You may discover that you want to become a licensed skydiver. We can get you started on that path with Tandem Progression or Static Line Progression.
Why would you want to get licensed?
From the SIM (Skydiver’s Information Manual):
“Persons holding a USPA A license may jump without supervision, pack their own main parachute, [and] engage in basic group jumps”
Reasons to start your training with IVPC
- Prefer a small dropzone for starting out
- Close to where you live
- Individual instructor training
- No commitment necessary — maybe you’re not sure if you want to get a license, but you might
- If you start with us, you get 10 free jumps after you get your license
Tandem Progression
You’ll make at least 2 tandem jumps.
What happens after I do my tandems?
You can transition to one of the other methods: Static Line, Instructor-Assisted Deployment (IAD), or Accelerated Freefall (AFF). We do offer a Static Line Progression (by appointment only — see below). For IAD and AFF, you’ll need to continue at another drop zone. All transitions will require you to take the appropriate First Jump Course. For Static and IAD, you do not have to start with tandems.

Large drop zones to continue training:
You’ll have a log book showing your progression.
Static Line Progression
We offer this training by appointment only since we have limited staff.
You’ll start with the First Jump Course and then you’ll make your first jump. At least 25 jumps are required for a license. Typically, it takes more than 25 because the jumper must successfully complete the goals for each jump. You can work at your own pace.
The First Jump Course is $200. That includes gear rental and the first jump.
